Vogel Disposal will be collecting holiday trees throughout the months of December and January at no extra cost. Simply leave the tree (no bag, and with all decorations removed) out with your trash to be collected. Directions from Vogel state: You must remove decorations. Cut tree so the branch spread is no more than 6 ft. across and tree length is no more than 6 ft., and not weighing more than 30 lbs.

If you would like to recycle your Christmas Tree, Allegheny County Parks is running their recycling program, which includes locations at Deer Lakes Park, North Park, and Hartwood Acres.


Residents may drop off Christmas trees from Thursday, December 26, 2019, through Tuesday, January 14, 2020, at all nine county parks from 8:00am until dusk.

All lights, decorations, tinsel and stands must be removed from trees prior to drop-off. Trees will be mulched and used in the county parks.
