Coronavirus (COVID-19) Update – March 24, 2020

Effective March 23, 2020 at 8:00pm, Governor Wolf issued a Stay-At-Home order for several counties, including Allegheny County. 

This order is in effect for two weeks, until April 6th, 2020.


The order emphasizes that individuals should stay at home and distance themselves from others.  There is no change to the life-sustaining businesses and waivers that have previously been in place, or to the requirements for restaurants to limit their operations to take-out and delivery.  Please refer to the links below for the most recent Orders and Guidance:

Township Municipal Operations:

The Richland Township Municipal Building remains CLOSED until further notice. The office staff is working remotely during this time. Please rest assured that the Township staff is still available to assist you. Our staff will be available M-F, 8:30am – 3:30pm. You may contact us via:

Public Meeting Schedule:

 The following two (2) meetings, scheduled for Wednesday, April 1, 2020 have been cancelled:

The next anticipated Board of Supervisors meeting is scheduled for Wednesday, April 15, 2020.  If you have a need to contact any Richland Township Municipal official, please do not hesitate to reach out to us via one of the methods listed above.


Richland Township Community Park:

The Center for Disease Control (CDC) and the State of Pennsylvania have encouraged social distancing measures as a way to mitigate the spread of the novel Corona Virus (COVID-19).  To help achieve compliance, EFFECTIVE IMMEDIATELY, Richland Township Officials have closed all recreational facilities in the Richland Park.  This includes all playgrounds, ball fields/sporting facilities, DEK rink, and restrooms.  This is being done to encourage social distancing and slow the spread of the virus.  Richland strongly urges all community members to change their daily behavior to reduce the risk from COVID-19, particularly to protect our most vulnerable populations.  If you choose to exercise in Richland Park, please adhere to the CDC’s guidelines for maintaining social distance (see below).
