Richland Township will be hosting TWO events on Saturday, March 14, 2020 to collect household waste.


1. Household Hazardous Waste Event through Environmental Coordination Services & Recycling, Inc. 

When: Saturday, March 14, 2020

Time: 9am to 1pm

Location: Richland Township Public Works building 4019 Dickey Rd, Gibsonia, PA 15044 (located behind/above the Municipal Offices)


ECS&R will be on site to collect computers, printers, TVs, household cleaning products, paints, gasoline, stains, finishes, light bulbs, and more. For a complete list of items to be collected, please visit Household Hazardous Waste will be collected at the Richland Township Public Works building by Environmental Coordination Services & Recycling, Inc. (ECS&R). This event is open to residents and non-residents of Richland Township. ECS&R accepts: Cash, Credit Cards or Checks.


Pre-registration is required by registering online at or by calling 866-815-0016.


During the event, residents are required to stay in their vehicle. Residents MAY NOT help off-load. ECS&R will do that for you.


ECS&R DOES NOT ACCEPT: Tires, mercury containing devices, explosives, fire extinguishers, radioactive material, elemental mercury, ammunition, medical waste, syringes, smoke detectors, large appliances and compressed gas.

2. Community Document Shredding Day through Out of Sight Shredding

Date: Saturday, March 14, 2020

Time: 10am – 1pm

Location: Richland Township Municipal Building – front parking lot


Out of Sight Shredding will shred all your unwanted documents for a small fee. This company holds NAID AAA Certification. Items will be collected and placed in a secure locked bin, and then transported back to the facility where they will be destroyed. Off site destruction of the documents allows Out of Sight Shredding to provide you with a lower fee and provides unique employment and job training opportunities to the blind and visually impaired, who are employed at the facility, as well as individuals with other physical or mental disabilities. They also provide employment to veterans in positions that cannot be filled by one of their blind or disabled clients. For more information, visit Accepts checks and cash only.


Cost: Bags and containers will be weighted at $0.20/lb.
By the box – $6.00 per box based on a regular size banker box (13″x15.5″) and $9.00 per box for legal-sized banker box (24.5″x15.5″)
