Open Burning Regulations in Allegheny County
All open-burning MUST be in compliance with the Allegheny County Health Department (ACHD) regulations.
To learn when (and what) you can burn in Allegheny County, visit our link to Open Burning in Allegheny County.
Smokey fire? Nuisance burning?
Call ACHD’s 24-Hour Complaint Line at 412-687-2243, or submit a complaint online: Air Quality Complaint Form.
If you have a complaint/concern, ACHD encourages you to utilize their new interactive complaint system at Air Quality Complaint Form. It allows residents to enter complaints and upload pictures, videos, and weblinks. Once signed up, you can enter a complaint, then review the progress of the complaint and email directly with the department. By notifying ACHD with Air Quality Complaints, we can all work together to help the community. Complaints may also be submitted anonymously, if preferred.
