Route 8 Bridge Project Through Late November

Construction on Route 8 (William Flynn Highway) Bridge in Richland Township

Construction on the Route 8 (William Flynn Highway) bridge, spanning West Branch Deer Creek in Richland Township, Allegheny County, has begun.  The bridge is located at the intersection of Route 8 and Route 910.   Construction is expected to be completed in late November, providing the good weather conditions continue.  Due to lane restrictions, please anticipate significant delays and allow for extra travel time.  During this time, an alternating traffic pattern will be controlled by temporary traffic signals.

This will be part of the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation’s (PennDOT) Rapid Bridge Replacement Project. Replacement of this bridge will allow PennDOT to remove it from Allegheny County’s structurally deficient bridge list.

In the event of unfavorable weather or unforeseen activities, this schedule may change.  We will post updated information as it becomes available.
