In November, Pine-Richland students demonstrated significant community involvement in Richland Township.
JROTC Monument Committee
On November 19th , a group from Pine-Richland JROTC (Junior Reserve Officers’ Training Corps) along with Richland’s American Legion members, presented progress made and plans of Richland’s Monument Committee. The committee has been working on future plans of expanding the Veteran’s Memorial at Richland Community Park. Robert Schleiden was also recognized as the 2025 Post Commander of the Year by the American Legion Department of Pennsylvania.

Penn Tree Eagle Scout Project
An Eagle Scout Project, lead by Carlton Fogliani of Boy Scout Troop 150, completed in November. Carlton lead the repairs and refurbishment of the site of the Penn Tree in Richland Community Park . Penn Tree is the oldest known tree in Allegheny County. Fogliani and volunteers replaced the fencing, removed creeping vegetation, and installed signage to guide visitors to the historic tree.
